About
Still on the water at 56
I'm a German sports scientist who moved to Mauritius in 2008 and never left. It wasn't drift, and it wasn't a holiday that got out of hand. My wife and I emigrated on purpose — she was pregnant with our first child at the time — and we came looking for exactly this: a life where health, movement and meaningful work belong together, with the wave and the trade winds right outside the door.
Over the years I've worked with people from many different countries. Some came to learn kitesurfing, others wanted to get rid of old pain or simply feel stronger in their bodies. And some asked me to help them build wellbeing and fitness concepts for their resorts or clubs. These three areas have always been connected for me: helping people move better, feel better and trust their own bodies again.
I chose Le Morne because the steady wind, the lagoon and the rhythm of life here make it easy to live what I teach. Being active isn't something I do on the side — it's part of who I am. Staying fit and capable at my age isn't a goal I chase; it's simply the result of how I live. That, more than any certificate, is the best proof I can offer that the way I work actually works.
I don't believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all programmes. I believe in listening first, understanding where someone really is, and then building something that fits their life.
